Best acid reducers?

I'm running out of the ones prescribed to me at the hospital and need to get my own. I have generic acid-reducer pills, but are these good enough? Recommendations?

I have a prescription for Prilosec 40mg.  The doctor told me that the over the counter 20mg is the same, except take two...of course.  I use the prescription instead since it is cheaper for me.

I did liquid prilose****il it ran out, then I switched to OTC prilosec.  That seemed to work well for me!

I was prescribed omeprazole - which is the same dosage OTC as the prescription, just the prescription capsule could be opened and eaten in yogurt, etc. whereas the OTC is tablets.  I cut them up with scissors into thirds and have had no trouble getting them in.

I'm allergic to omeprazole so I take prescription Protonix.  It works GREAT and is real cheap.

I take 20 of prescription Omeprazole. Seems to be bothering me more 2 weeks post op so I may have to up that. The hospital gave me ratadine (sp?) and it didn't help at all.

my hernia & GERD came back so I'm taking Radadine (Zantac) in the evening, plus omeprozale morning and night. Not loven' it but that is what it takes to keep the gerd at bay. talked to the doc today about a repair for the hernia. Hope it works!

I take the generic of prilosec which is omeprazole. Once in the morning works well for me as long as I keep up with it.
