Ramblings of a Sleeved Lady :)

Sometimes I find myself questioning my progress. Sometimes I want to compare my journey to everyone else's. Sometimes I think to myself, "You still aren't measuring up. Do better."
But, then there are days where I am so completely proud of myself.
Days that I look at how far I have come, how much stronger I am…and I am blown away by just how much I have accomplished. Days where I know I can keep going to reach my goal--because what is 40 more pounds compared to the 105 I've already lost?
But, here's what I really want you all to hear as you look at my "before" and "during" photo:
The girl on the left was a ray of sunshine. She constantly smiled and tried to make others happy. But, inside she was hurting. And she was ashamed. She was ashamed by the number on the scale. She was ashamed that she felt self-conscious whenever she walked into a room. She hated that she constantly tugged on her clothing, wanting to hide her body from the world.
The girl on the right…she is still the same girl. A girl who smiles and laughs like it's her job. A girl who loves to make others happy. And, she's a girl who still sometimes struggles. But, she's also a girl who stands a little taller. She's a girl who is a little more confident. She's a girl who no longer apologizes for taking up space.
So to all of you who are just starting your journey…please know that the parts of you that are hurting and ashamed…those parts can change. Those parts can feel better. And most importantly…those parts are worthy. Those parts are lovable. And, you have the power to make it happen.
Love,
Amber
