Help!!  I had VSG surgery 07-14 and I am on a 3 month stall.. I keep juggling the same 3 pounds.. Up and down. I have only lost 90 pounds so far and have 105 pounds to go before my goal.. I am 46 years old and seriously need some advice.  Cant see my NUT until May.

I am still doing the same thing with water, protein, veggies, and have even stopped eating after 8pm at night... any help would be greatly appreciated....

Fruits and vegatables are carbs. The occasional potato or creamed potato will knock you out of ketosis.

I have read these boards a bit and have noticed your carb count is around thirty in maintenance.  How do you keep the carbs that low?  What would a sample menu be?

I try to stick to meat protein, some eggs and a small amount of green veggies.  Once a day I have an ounce or two of blueberries or raspberries.  But even I have slowed down and stalled a few times.  Keep the faith and quit eating potatoes!!!

How many calories are you eating per day?  How many carbs?  My weight loss slowed significantly at 6 months out, and then continued to slow until I reached maintenance at 15 months.

I found that I needed to eat more calories over time to feel ok.  At 8 months out, I was probably eating about 1000 calories per day.  When I eat carbs, I retain water, and my weight does up.  It could be that increased carbs are causing you to retain water and masking the weight loss.

I'd suggest logging your foods, and watching the carbs and calories closely.  If you are eating less calories than your body burns, you will be losing fat, regardless of the numbers on the scale.

best wishes

Carol

Thank you for responding..I have started back tracking my calories and around 1000 to 1200 a day..I eat very little carbs..no bread, pasta, etc just an ocassional potato and then dont eat the whole thing...I drink about 68 oz. Of water a day..

Grilled chicken, veggies

Scrambled eggs turkey bacon or turkey sasuage

Shrimp grilled fish, turkey burgers.

Hamburger steak

Snack on turkey bites..

Cottage cheese or cheese stick 2%

Lemon water sometimes with liquid stevia

No soft drinks, nothing but decaff coffee and water..

I notice I can eat more  now and I really try t o watch my portion sizes..

Started back using my fitness pal app. Which says to lose 2 pOunds per week I need to eat 1700 calories per day..how accurate is this..,

Grazing is not a problem for me..

Any suggestions is appreciated

My Fitness Pal does not accurately calculate the amount of calories you need to lose weight if you're a weight loss surgery patient.  Ignore it.
