day 3 of liquid

So, surgery is oct22, 2015 at 8am. I am on day 3 of shakes and liquid only. These things are discussing (bariatric advantage vanilla), is there anything I can put in them to make them taste better? and are there any ideas for broths? I'm finding them too salty. Thanks in advance.

I make Pho beef bone broth in pressure cooker, it tastes great, have you ever had Pho soup? You can put as much salt as you like in that. You can also make it with chicken bones. I hated the Bariatric Advantage shakes and switched to Premier Protein RTD shakes which you can get at Walgreens and Walmart...30 grams of protein 1 gram sugar and they taste pretty good, they are 24.00 for an 18 pak on Jet.com and about 8 bucks for the 4 pack at Walmart.. Best you go taste as many now before your surgery. I don't think you can really add anything to the shake to mask the taste...If you like them sweeter you can add Toroni Sugar Free Syrup or just plain Splenda. After your tastes may change. Mine did a little and I don't care for too sweet now. Also you can put shake in freezer for 15 minutes or pour it over ice, I find the colder they were the better they tasted. When I did that pre op liquid stage I also liked Lipton Noodle Soup, I just strained out the noodles...love the broth. Good luck!

I do like pho, I never thought of that. Thank you. Typically how much did you loose during the liquid stage?

It's been 8 days and I have lost 11lbs. I also buy wonton soup and take out the wontons and pork pieces for my bird..he loves his meat.

If you're allowed to have decaf coffee, every morning I have half a protein drink in my coffee and it's SO delicious! I've never been a fan of broth because of it's saltiness, but adding unflavored protein and extra water to it helps.

PB2 is a great add to both chocolate and vanilla protein shakes. 1 TBS is 23 calories. Gotta like PB though!

I add pumpkin pie spice to my vanilla shakes and some unsweetened cocoa in the chocolate :)
