Hey y'all,

So, last week I had a TERRIBLE stomach virus. We're talking five days of almost constant diarrhea (TMI). When I visited my doctor last Wednesday, I was a solid 250. 90 pounds down from my start weight.

I weighed today and my scale tells me I have gained 6 POUNDS!!!!! How in the world?! I have not strayed from my diet and that number just crushed me.

Fluctuations happen.  Your body does weird things when you're sick and recovering from sickness.  The batteries in your scale might need changing.

Don't worry about it.

You probably got weighed when you were still dehydrated from your virus... so the scale was low... your body did a readjust when it took the fluids back in.. It is all water fluctuation not weight. Stick with your plan... keep moving forward...this is life not a diet, it will happen.

Five days of the screaming bubblers would dehydrate anyone. As has been mentioned, you most likely just got back to where you should be. You'll get there.

AND  you weighed on YOUR DOCTORS SCALE on wednesday, and (i am assuming, silly me) on YOUR SCALE today?  Dr's scales are ALWAYS higher.  I know they are for me.  My doctor makes me leave my clothes and shoes on...

RNYer here, but everyone is right.  I'm a daily weigher(not for everyone I know) but I've seen my weight fluctuate as much as 5 pounds over a day or two. It all depends on my hydration, sodium intake, where I'm on my cycle etc.

As long as you're confident you are following your plan, keep your head down, and do the work. The weight will come off.

You probably dehydrated with the virus, and rehydrated after getting well again.
