Well.. today is the big day.  I have my plastic surgery consultation with Dr. Joseph Michaels.  I'm excited and nervous.  Of course, to start the day of "right," I had a horrible dream about my dad last night and this morning I've got my first exam in Statistics before I get to drive up to my appointment.  "Yay."

1: protein shake
2: protein bar in car on way to appointment
3: dinner out!  It seems like Silver Diner is the plan, so I'll probably get salmon and lentils since that's yummy.

liquid and vites: I'm waiting for my new vites to arrive, so I'm just doing d, iron, and b-12 today
exercise: attempting to run

How about you?

Good luck, Gwen! Let us know how it goes. :-)

Work was much slower yesterday and I guess that's because it was a federal holiday.  Hope that doesn't mean today is crazy.  The office sponsored a coffee and doughnut day and the cart just came around with Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!! I don't have a huge sweet tooth but Krispy Kreme donuts are friggin crack to me.  Even with my surgery, I probably could eat 6 of those things if I tried because they melt in your freaking mouth!!! I passed on the doughnuts and got a cup of coffee... but I'm still smelling them.  I should ask for an empty box and just sniff it all day. LOL

B: (NOT DOUGHNUTS) 4 oz cottage cheese and 2 turkey patties and COPIOUS COFFEE with cream

L: Slow cooker chicken enchilada soup with cheese

S: Kind Bar

D: pork tenderloin and brussel sprouts

Exercise: I have been running a lot lately so I think today is gonna be about 15 minutes on the elliptical and then weights.  I need to give myself a rest.

Happy Tuesday folks!!

Good for you for resisting. Krispy Kreme are crazy addictive to me. Looks like you're really doing well overall. I'm at 8 wks post sleeve and this is the first week I feel like I'm struggling.

Thank you!  Yes, I have only had them once since surgery.  I ate two in about 10 minutes and that scared me enough to pretty much tell myself that I really don't need to ever eat those again. Completely empty calories, not filling at all and the sugar made me feel horrible!  They still smell good, though! lol

The first months after surgery are up and down for most people.  Don't get freaked out just recognize the emotion and start learning new ways to acknowledge and cope with them.  My answer was always food before surgery so it really helped to find other hobbies and ways to deal with emotions, good or bad.  Just take it day by day and you'll work through it all. You'll do great!

and just one of those little suckers is like 500 calories...  They just built one around the corner from my house.  It was a major contributor to my decision to get back on track.  Every morning on my way back from the gym I pass it.  Most days I don't see it...

Yesterday was good.  Had a little fluctuation to intake, which I believe helps with loss, and a good ab work out.  Had dinner at my folks, with some old friends.  It was nice!

Hi Gwen,

I can't wait to hear how your plastics appointment goes.  I'm sending you my best!

Day 10 of the "back on track" effort, and I feel like I'm finally back with the program - thank God!  I was very close to losing control and going back to binging and self-medicating with food.  It took over a week to regain my composure.  But now I feel like I can make it back to my goal weight, and I'll be at a good weight when I leave for Spain.

Breakfast - salmon

lunch - orange chicken with spinach

dinner - philly cheese steak sloppy joe - no bread

snack - taco bake made with spaghetti squash - yum

I hope you are all doing well.

Carol

I could use the taco bake with spaghetti squash recipe. That sounds fantastic!
