Newbie Introduction - no longer Lurking!!
Hello everyone,
I've been reading and lurking around OH for about a month now, and while I don't have much experience to share yet, it seems silly to stay in the shadows!
I'm about 3 weeks into my preparation program for Gastric Bypass. My insurance requires a 3 month preparation, so I'm looking at a potential surgery date in mid to late April - fingers crossed for smooth sailing through approvals!
So far, I have my PCP and Psych clearances and I'm working on the rest. I've met with my NUT and I'm working to develop the habits of lifestyle, eating and exercise that I will need for a lifetime of health and happiness. I plan to work this tool very hard and make the best use of it that I can.
I've already learned so much from your posts and comments, and I'm so inspired by your many successes! I will continue to learn from the vets here, and eventually, I will share my own knowledge and experience.
Happy to have found this community!

Welcome. The waiting period insurance required helped in so many ways: lost weight, read, researched, read some more, attended support group meetings, practiced eating habits, exercised, started the supplement regime, completed pre-funeral planning/healthcare directive, organized everything in sight, and more. You couldn't have said it any better..."health and happiness."
