There's nothing to be nervous about. You'll be under light anesthesia and you won't have a care in the world! For me, I was put on an IV of fluids, and was positioned on my side. As they put me under, they put a mouthpiece in my mouth (to keep my jaw open) and that's the last thing I remember. I was groggy after (obviously, someone drove me home!) and spent the day napping in the recliner. My doctor did a few biopsies, but I didn't feel any soreness or anything from them. If he hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known that they were done.

You'll be fine! Best of luck!

I had mine last Thursday and it was soooo easy. I remember the doctor starting to put in the scope and remember nothing until they woke me up 10 minutes later. I had zero pain, they gave me a pain killed and a sedative in my IV. I took a nap in recovery, they gave me some apple juice to make sure I could swallow fine. Then they called my ride to come pick me up. I had some gas after because they blow air into the stomach to fully inflate it for a good view.

Surgery will be hopefully in October or November 2014, with Dr. Megan Gilmore

I had mine three weeks ago and it was a breeze. Twilight sleep is how it is most often performed. I remember the mouthpiece and trying to talk and some gagging but I have no memories of being uncomfortable at all. I walked out and went on with a relaxed day with no pain or discomfort at all.
