Shedding pounds and clothing choices....

I just did something very freeing on multiple levels:

I closed every single credit card account I had that allowed me to shop at stores that ONLY sold plus-sized clothing.

I NEVER want to have to set foot in a Lane Bryant or Avenue ever again. Getting rid of the store cards is one step in that direction. It's also incentive for me to stay the course.  Go me!

I did that, too!  Paid them off, closed the account, and tossed the cards!

Along those same lines, I received a Roman's catalog in the mail and my husband handed it to me and said, "That's for you.  Or, at least who you used to be."  :)

Yup...they were all paid off, and just sitting.  And I thought, "hey, that's over $4000 of open credit there that's not being used and never will be again, might as well free it up for other things" so I called each one, closed them all and it just felt so liberating!

I need to cut the cards up...haven't done that yet.  Thanks for the reminder!

I hope your credit score does not plummet, if you worry about such things.

I did worry about that a bit.  I know it might take a ding, but I figure it's better to take the hit because I closed the accounts rather than defaulting on them.  Just have to wait and see.

good for you!

I texted STOP to the Lane Bryant thing to stop getting the text coupons.  I have to go and unsubscribe online too.  It feels so GOOD!

I was so happy they existed when I needed them, but oh hellz no, I am not shopping there if I don't have to!

Once I figured out that I was too small to buy even a bra there, I knew it was time to cut them loose.

And you're right--it felt pretty freakin' awesome to be told "we don't carry bras that small."  This is an issue I never in a million years would have thought I'd encounter--being too small for a store!

But I'm damn glad I am!
