Diareaha
Hi I am 5 days post op and I've had a low fever ranging from 99.3 -100.3 and other times I don't have a fever but my body will be burning hot. Doc said he's not concerned. I went to E.R. Yesterday for some IV fluid. I came home and every time I drink something I got to run to the bathroom and all liquid comes out. Seems like I can't hold any liquid down.
There's a saying of "liquid in, liquid out." When you're ingesting nothing but liquids, it's hard for your body to have solid stool since there's nothing to firm you up. I added 2 tablespoons of benefiber to my morning shake during this period (I still do, since I still have a shake a day) and it helped a little, but really the only thing that helps is reaching the solid food phase.
Drink as much as you can - sip all day and always have a drink on hand. It'll get easier! Right now, liquids are your main medicine.

It's not uncommon at all, being that you're ingesting fluids for the most part.
- If you're mixing protein drinks with milk, try switching to water instead. (lactose intolerance**** some of us post-op with straight milk)
- My doc did give the green light for taking Immodium for diarrhea when I came home - same goes for Milk of Magnesia if you find yourself constipated next week.
- Try adding a little fiber- not too much
