Today, I went shopping with a friend to get a couple basic pieces for work. Since I am still losing, I didn't need the mother-load of clothing.   Starting with the size I "thought" I needed and working my way down, I discovered I now can wear a size 8 in pants and a small/medium in shirts (depending on the cut).  At my highest weight, I wore a 5X-6X or a 36W!  Needless to say, there was a sob-fest in the fitting room.

As a former Super SMO, my weight loss has given me the opportunity to have a life I would never had had.  I started out with a BMI of 84.5.  Today, I am 28.5.

I have stayed 100% on Plan-100% of the time since starting this journey way back as a pre-surgery patient.  I think that my personal success is due directly to staying laser focused, not pushing the envelope with my Sleeve (I always under eat my sleeve), only eat foods on plan and will keep my weight loss moving forward and listening to those here on the board who have had multiple years of success with their Sleeve and are willing to share their knowledge.

While my initial personal goal is 140 (a pipe dream to me when I first started out), I think it might be time to consider revamping it...and going lower.  I want a normal BMI.  At the rate I am going and the level of commitment I have, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to achieve.  From 447 to ... who knows???  :)

Christine,

Thank you.  I made the decision early on that inorder for me to be as successful as I wanted to be, I would need to white knuckle it until I was firmly in maintenance.  Because I have consciously made the effort to stay on my plan 100% of the time, I have been very successful.  I leave nothing to chance.  When leaving the house for the day, a cooler is put in the car stocked with protein choices and water.  If my day ends up not working out as I planned, I can still stay on plan by pulling things from my cooler.  Not being prepared isn't anyone's fault but my own.  I am responsible for what I need nutritionally.  No one else.  When dining with others, I could care less what anyone else is eating- at home, at a party, at a restaurant with friends, etc.  They do not dictate my food choices.  I do.  I can choose to go off the rails because I want to eat what everyone else is, or I can make excellent food choices that keep me on plan and moving continuously forward with weight loss.  Healthy eating and continued weight loss always win.  :)

Even before surgery I was not a big fan of eating out, just did it when I had to, not as a special treat.  I'm on my way to meet family for a birthday celebration at a restaurant and reading this reinforces my choice to bring something suitable for me to eat regardless of how the others present feel about it.  Thank you for being an inspiration.  I wish you tons and tons more success on your journey.

Thank you!

Once I made the decision to not worry about what others ate, I haven't looked back.  If eating at a restaurant my "go to" meals are Salmon or grilled chicken.  If they arent available, I alwas keep a packet of Syntrax Nectar protein powder in my purse.  I just mix it in my water or tea (depending on the flavor) and sip away.  I constantly make substitutions when ordering.  No rice, pasta, potatoes, bun/bread.  I ask for double low glycemic veggies and always ask that a takeout box be brought with my meal.  I weigh my protein (have a little digital scale that fits in my purse) and veggies, box the rest up and then eat what was left on my plate.  It is not important to me what others think as I go through my "ritual" of weighing food.  I have a goal...I refuse to be one of those people who never get to goal because they don't or won't stick with their plan.
