I guess... I did a search on this site and there were quite a few post of people who gained a lot. one person even said they gained 33 pounds.  It was just really a shock. I expected to gain SOME....just not that much.  I was going to wait until my two week visit..but i was too curious.  Now I know.....

Didn't you post yesterday to ask about weighing yourself after surgery?  And lots of people warned you about post-op weight gain? ;)

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to fret.  Stick to your plan and the weight will come off.  You will have daily fluctuations and they can drive you batty, but try to focus on the trend of your weight loss instead.  You'll rock this.

Fluids from surgery that were pumped into your body.  Water retention.  Don't worry about it.  Drink lots and stick to your plan.

I gained 12lbs in the hospital. I lost it in about 5 days. Don't sweat it.

When I came home on Thursday I was 16 lbs heavier than on Monday before my surgery. I was worried about swollen arms and hands and The nurses said the body will hold water in all sorts of places as it was in shock/survival mode from surgery.
