Whatcha eating today? Thursday, 9/22/2016

Good morning all.

Today I start my third month of Vyvanse and I'm still super pleased.  I haven't had a single episode of binging since I started the medication.  Which isn't to say that I've always eaten on plan, but even when I eat off plan, I'm mindful and in control.  I'm so glad that I finally sucked up my pride and talked to my PCP. I also got around to scheduling my 2-year followup with my surgeon this week.  It should have been back in March/April, but Life sort of trumped the scheduling of unnecessary appointments.

Today I also started the morning off with the realization that, for future long races, I really need to just give myself permission to sleep in for 3 days afterward.  I've tried to force myself to get up and exercise this week and that just leads to me hitting snooze for an hour and then feeling less rested and more guilty.  So next race I'm just going to give myself permission to set the alarm for an hour later than normal and skip exercise for a few days, since I know that'll help me recover more swiftly than the method I went with this week!

I probably shouldn't even be posting my meals today since I have no clue what's going on in my life.  I have an appointment at 10:45 and I don't know if I'm just going to go to college and study/check out bio tutoring or come home before class or what.  Which means I don't know what I'll be eating since I don't know where I'll be eating.  I should probably figure this out soon!

1: protein shake
2: tofu (This is my favorite lunch box meal.)
3/4: some combination of quest bar and/or hot meal when I get home from school

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: rest day

How about you?  Hopefully you've got a better plan than I do!

How wonderful that the Vyvanse is working for you!  I have about 4-5 pounds of regain that I am working on getting off - and it is amazing how difficult it is to cut back when you get used to eating more.  UGhhh  That being said, this is probably not going to be the week I get my act totally in gear!

B:  oatmeal with sliced almonds

L:  leftover chicken parm from yesterday's lunch

D:  hot pepper chicken - boneless chicken marinated in italian salad dressing, sliced peppers and onions cooked in a cast iron skillet and then a jar of hot pepper rings added at the end (after the chicken is out of the pan) and then over the chicken and peppers

S:  hoping to make an apple betty for my dinner guests (just my son and his girl, lol) - but I will have some

E:  definitely a walking day - it is gorgeous here today

L/V - good on track

It IS hard to get back on track after you get off it!  But you can do this.  I believe in you :)

Thanks for helping to develop a drug that brings me so much relief!

Enjoy Longwood! I haven't been there in years, but always enjoyed the light/fountain shows. And the Christmas displays!

My eating has been very off this week. I have great intentions, a good plan, and then I get frustrated and use that as an excuse to eat something I shouldn't. And, way too much! I was so over full yesterday. Today will be a good day. I'm going to stick to my plan!

B: scrambled egg with ham, cheese and jalapeños

L: chicken with a jalapeño cheese sauce and a few bites of roasted potatoes

S: laughing cow cheese and a few crackers

D: not sure yet, I may try to not have anything as long as I have enough protein

V: done

W: behind, but working on it

E: TRX class tonight

So, I had a cup of hot chocolate, which gave me a stomach ache. Not sure why I can't learn that sugary drinks upset my tummy. But, on a positive note, I ran/walked about a mile with my student and I didn't finish my lunch. Usually I measure and then clean my plate even if I feel full (that horrible thing my mom instilled in me). But today I put about half back in the fridge. So at least that is a win.
