I'm up stupid early today so that I can drive my partner to the airport.  Ugh.  But I got dressed in my running clothes in hopes that this will encourage me to run as soon as I get back home.  Sadly I don't think I'll be able to get a nap in today, too much work to do, so I'll be caffeining it up.

1: protein shake
2: egg roll in a bowl leftovers - I made this last night and it was a HIT.  I tweaked it a little bit.  I used 2lb ground pork, not ground sausage.  10 cloves of garlic, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 4T soy sauce, 1 teaspoon GROUND ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon white pepper.  I also added 8 ounces sliced mushrooms.  All three of us LOVED it.  Yum.  The guys had it with rice, I just had it in a bowl.
3: quest bar if necessary, otherwise whatever's in the fridge when I get home

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: I'm hoping to run and then do my 30 minutes of yoga stretching.  We'll see. (Yay!!  I ran today and didn't start sobbing.  My training plan included skipping.  Happily my new sports bra, a Wacoal, was up to the challenge.  My new body?  Not so much.  One more reason to look forward to plastic surgery.)

How about you?  What's going on in your world?

Good morning All,

In the continuing saga of "Carol and food" - I was pretty good yesterday in spite of going to two parties.  But the scale is not being kind to me.   The only thing I can think of is my portion control on casseroles may need adjusting.  And I have wine cooler in the evenings.  I may be getting more calories from the wine than I'd like to believe.  Time for some honest calculating...  Its just that I'm so tired of being hungry.

Oh well,  Enough complaining.  Who said it was supposed to be easy!

Breakfast - my old standard - poached salmon.

Lunch - Mexican casserole - made with spaghetti squash

dinner - chicken fried rice with cauliflower rice.

snack - maybe a serving of the chicken and broccoli casserole.

I hope you are all well and happy.

Carol

I'd imagine that the wine cooler is part of the problem.  Those things have a lot of calories!  Not knowing the specific brand, googling says that a 12oz wine cooler has 170-200 calories.

As for the hunger, I rarely get hungry these days but, when I do, it tends to be acid-related.  Are you taking a PPI?  I don't take one on a regular basis, but once or twice a year I've taken a course of Nexium (2 weeks) and that fixes my hunger.  Just throwing that out there - not sure if it's helpful!

This is a good suggestion.  I'll try an antacid.  Perhaps it will help.B

I looked up wine coolers, and realized I should probably call it a wine spritzer, because I mix wine with diet sparkling water rather than fruit juice.  But it could very well be the wine calories making the difference.  I am trying to think of what I might substitute for the wine, but I think any fruit juice would be equally bad .

thanks,

Caro

Isn't sparkling water, carbonation? I still haven't had anything carbonated 2.5 years out lol

I'm wondering with all the casseroles if you are getting more veggies, less meat than you think. I used to be big on the casseroles, let's face it, it's easy. But now I don't include the meat in them. That way I know I get my 2-3 oz dense protein, served with a lil of the casserole. The protein will make you feel not hungry, the veggies won't. Not as much or as for long.

My life has been crazy lately. My parents are out of town so I don't have the extra help with the kids. So yesterday my day started at 5, left for work at 7, after paying the accountant (ouch!) I got to our business at about 4:45 and worked until 6:30, ran home to fill up my water bottle, kiss my kids good night, then went to a meeting. Back home by 8 to put dinner away, do the dishes, relax for a half hour with my husband and then go to bed to start all over today. My mother in law is helping with the children, but she is often more of a hindrance than a help, other than being a warm body so they aren't alone after school. When I run around like this I don't eat well. I need to figure out a better way.

B: crackers and cheese (cheese is a great thing to eat while I drive, which is often breakfast, but I can't eat it without crackers or bread)

S: pretzels and peanut butter and two bites of chicken

L: fresh mozzarella and crackers

D: I don't know yet. Something with hamburger because that is what is in my fridge

Grab some Oscar Meyer p3's they have some with double meat, or meat, cheese, and nuts. Better than your crackers :) also they are grab and go. I know our local publix carries, in the egg section, a bag of hard boiled peeled eggs, again just grab and go. Protein bars. Beef (turkey) jerky.

I am running all over the place lately, and I keep a bar, turkey jerky, and nuts in my purse now.

I also use my crockpot most days for dinner.
