Im going crazy about nuts this time. They are healthy and good but I think I am overdoing. How to slow it down. Any thought? The only option I have is not to bye them at all ?. When I have them at home I go around multiple times a day ... and God I am loving them.

My husband brought home a huge jar of cashews from work ... I started gong crazy for nuts too.  He hid them a few days ago, thank God.  I can't have them around.  You may have to do the same????

If you can't control yourself around them - throw them out.

I find I can eat almonds in moderation, but I have to avoid cashews because I cannot eat them in moderation.  I love cashews... One more sacrifice for my health.  Its worth it.

I was having the same problem a couple of months ago (nuts about nuts).  I had to dump them and find another protein snack which I could eat and then stop.  I got the Quest Sour Cream and Onion protein chips - they are not exactly like regular chips, but I like the taste and crunch and can stop with one bag (130 calories, 21 grams protein).

Yes, don't buy them at all. And throw out what you have in the house right now.

You can retry moderation in maintenance but for now celebrate that you recognize a problem and squa****

I'm with Cappy. I can have almonds and walnuts around and just have a few. But if I had cashews or peanuts, I would eat them until they were gone.

You could try individual 100 calorie packs, and see if that slows you down. But really, you'd be better off, and happier, if you didn't buy them at all.

Nuts and cheese are the two healthy things that people eat way, way too much of. You can eat a few thousand calories of them in a day, and never feel satisfied.

Stop grabbing your nuts.

Like you I discovered that I had control issues with nuts, specifically cashews. Buying a can sets me up for failure. However, if I buy the 100 calorie packs I will generally stick to just eating one bag and the portions are controlled for me. That may work for you too.

I can use nuts as ingredients.  Lying around to eat?  Forget about it - I could literally eat pounds of nuts at once.  I just quit buying them unless it's for a recipe.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
