Hi I am Janis, I live in Cashmere. I am interested in setting up a support group for pre and post op WLS patients in the valley, you would be a welcome addition if you would like to join me and my Sis. I am in the process of trying to get in touch with all the WLS patients in the area to see what kind of interest there might be out there. Do you know of anyone who is considering WLS or is Post Op who might be interested in a local support group? I envision in addition to the moral support and encouragement the opportunity to sample all the bariatric food and supplement products at the group meetings. My sisters biggest post op complaint was finding palatable high protein supplements and vitamins that were actually effective. I also envision the opportunity to compare notes on Doctors who are not only educated in caring for bariatric patients in the long term but also who truly understand what we endure as morbidly obese persons, the prejudice, the mis-conceptions, the ignorance. And who are supportive of bariatric surgery for those people who really do need it. I would like to be able to direct prospective WLS patients to Doctors, Psychologists, Nutritionists, etc who are knowledgeable, skilled, empathetic and supportive of our needs in our quest for healthier bodies and happier lives. I look forward to hearing from you. Janis Hayden [email protected]

Melissa What an inspiration you are!! I am having my surgery on September 18th and whenever someone asks me about how well this surgery works I show them your before and after pictures, and it just blows them away. Everyone says "she was pretty before but wow, I mean WOW" and I just smile and say that's going to be me soon. Whenever I doubt my abilities to go through with this I click on your pictures. I know I'll be looking at your pictures many many times over the next few motnths so please continue to add updates!!

It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by. Mel was one of the original members of our local support group. She moved away to Oregon and is now a long distance member. Mel has lost an amazing 104lbs and is the first member of our group to make her goal weight. Take a look at Mel's profile to see how gorgeous she is! Congratulations Mel, we love and miss you!</font></b></td> </tr></table>

Dear Melissa~~~~What amazing progress you have made in a year. I am sorry that on your anniversary you earn yourself a Cholecystectomy. Gallbladders are such very pesky things. I wish you the very best of luck with your procedure and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a swift and complete recovery. Be well. Lorraine

I will give an update on myself I suppose... I will be having my gall bladder surgery on my one year anniversary of the WLS Surgery! Fate can be cruel at times. Wish me luck!
