You look AMAZING!

Hi all,

Is it common to stall around 5.5 to 6 months out?  (like the 3 week stall...)  I have been holding steady for the last four weeks.  I know stalls are not uncommon, but this is getting frustrating.  I'm revisiting my diet, but can't see

Epicurious has a vegan "turducken" that looks so amazing!  I'm a meat eater, and so I'll save this recipe for a Sunday.

For those of you that eat oatmeal for breakfast, can you tell me how much dry oat you use when making a single serving?  I plan to try oatmeal this week.  But at 6 months out, I still have trouble sensing when I'm full so any anecdotal information you

I'm at 6 months or so post op.  My surgery day weight was 196, and today I am 156.  Weight loss has slowed, as I expected it would, though I am still losing around .7- 1 pound a week.  I don't think I'm quite out of the honeymoon period yet.  My surgeo

I'm a woman around 156 now. I'm going through that awkward phase where almost nothing I own fits me well. I wear 10s comfortably and 12s I can also wear but they're looking ill fitting. I need to go shopping for work clothing, and am trying to figure

Any advice?  I need to add fish to my diet, but I also want to live in a stink-free home.

I've been craving carbs, bad ones, for the last two weeks.  I'm just having a really hard time these days, and I wonder if it's because I've added sweet and low to my coffee, and am allowing myself to have peanut butter and one banana a week.  Or possi

I haven't been on the boards lately, but I've been thinking about you and all the helpful advice you offered immediately following my procedure.  Has school started for you yet?  Hope you're doing well, and CONGRATS I see you're well under 180 :)

I am craving something sweet, and have been for days.  I've tried fruit, sweet yogurt, nuts, and peanut butter.  I'm jonesing for a cookie.  Before I go off the rails, can others share what sweet "cheats" they rely on?  I'd prefer they be close to heal

I keep hearing about rapid loss during the "honeymoon" period and wonder approximately when the honeymoon period is over for most folks.

I am 8 weeks post VSG tomorrow.  I weighed in at 196 on the day of surgery.  I am 172 today.  That's roughl

A coworker of mine had WLS about two years ago.  She lost to her goal weight, and has more-or-less maintained (my assessment, we don't talk numbers).  Now that I've also had WLS, I'm noticing that she can be mean spirited and judgmental about other ove

What are your favorite vegetables post-op? Are there any that you're able to digest more easily than others?

samanthalc posted a discussion topic 8 years, 9 months ago

I practically lived on Sweetgreen before surgery and it's all I can think about now.  :(  (I ate there for lunch nearly every weekday.)

I cannot wait until I'm cleared for salads.

I stopped at a gas station located beside a McDonalds today.  Let me first say that I was never a McDonalds person pre-VSG to start with, but the smell of the food next door literally triggered my gag reflex.  My sense of smell is so sensitive it's dri

This will be random, but I've been unsuccessful in finding the answer with basic internet searches.  And I won't see my doctor for a while yet to ask the question.

Immediately after the VSG, like 24 hours later, the hospital took a vial of bloo

We have lots of work happy hours, and I don't usually go to them.  I really need to frequent them more often for work political reasons.  I was never a big drinker before surgery, and I'm still only 3 weeks out now, but in another 4 weeks I'm going to

I get my first bit of food tomorrow, but my instructions say I eat no more than a teaspoon over a 20 minute period.  (The food is puree, so ricotta, pureed beans, loose mashed potatoes, etc).  Will I feel full eating a single teaspoon of something?  Is

I had a chewable unjury vitamin a few minutes ago, followed by a water chaser.  Those things taste pretty foul, and I now understand why my doctor encourages double doses of childrens chewable vitamins initially.  Anyway, within three minutes I felt na

I'm still 8 days post op.  Dreaming about something that isn't liquid.  I'm looking through the limited list of foods I'm allowed in seven days.  I don't like mashed potatoes, but will eat them if I can hide unflavored protein powder in them.  I'd like

Random question, but I've been searching old forums about quantities folks can eat a year post-op (I'm not even a week out) and am wondering who can actually eat more by volume in a sitting, on average.  (so--all things being equal in terms of the type

I am exhausted, and in a medium amount of pain.  I've seen that it's not uncommon to be a bit miserable at this point, and people have said it gets better.  All of that said, I think my expectation of a quick and easy recovery was a bit unrealistic. Th

I'm already making plans for the many articles of professional clothing that I have and will soon no longer need.  If you are any of the above sizes and want some interim clothes, please let me know.  (You'll need to give me six weeks for the first set

I have poor circulation (self diagnosed) in my legs.  They're always cold, sometimes puffy from fluid.  I also sit a lot.... but I digress.  I suspect some of my circulation trouble, if not all, is due to my weight.  So, for those with experiences simi
