Back on track

As I approached my third surgiversary, I posted about struggling. I am hoping to be past the worst of it now.

Since that post, there have definitely been added life stressors, and there always will be.  But in the past week, I believe I've finally gotten my head back in the game. By keeping my protein and water goals in mind (and consequently ditching most 'bad' carbs), I've lost 6 lbs in the last week.  While I know this is mostly water, the jump start is an important first step, and goes a long way toward conquering cravings. At the same time, I am trying to move more. It isn't easy, but it will work.

The thing that's helping MOST OF ALL right now, though, is just taking one day at a time.......stringing together one clean eating day after another. With the right PLANNING, even if you are only planning one day at a time, you can do this.

I began this journey nearly four years ago, with the goal of losing 85 lbs. I lost 65, then began to yo-yo, and ultimately, to gain back 25 lbs. That means I MAINTAINED a 40 lb loss. I've never done that before. Next step? Get back to the 65 lbs lost mark - and I've already knocked out 6 of those. After that, I'll take a look at my end goal again, and keep moving in the right direction.

I've never posted very often, but I am a regular reader, and I can't say enough how much OH has helped. A big thanks to everyone who does share their journey, whether a long-time regular, or those just beginning. This place rocks!
