My primary Dr. recommended the sleeve, so that's what I went with. I was 448 lbs at my highest and 430 lbs (38 years old as well) on surgery day, 7 months ago. Today I'm down 138 lbs and still losing. Surgery and recovery were uneventful, life is good.

the sleeve is my surgeons preferred surgery for heavy weights, says it is much safer and there are less problems

he said the lap band would be a waste for me but he would do the rny if I preferred it or insurance will only pay for it

im loving my sleeve ,lost 160 lb since the beginning of the possess

Robin,

I started this path at 397.  I lost roughly 10% of that pre-op.  Over the past year, I'm down 179 pounds and still losing.

You can do it.
