post op...and just....amazed....
I had my surgery on Monday...had an awful time with nausea...I thought I was gonna be all that and walk right through it...nope... I didn't have much pain but heaving for hours after surgery was not fun. They finally found a med that worked (YAY) and I'm on the other side! I've been home the past two days and I keep having these surreal moments.,..like I just fixed about 2.5 oz of breakfast for me.... FOR ME!! The woman who could eat a 4 egg omelette and all the sides!! And I'm full! Like, really don't want to put anything in my mouth because I think it would be uncomfortable full! And it was just liquid! OH MY!
The other thing is the weight...to my knowledge they never weighed me when I went in on Monday...but of course I weighed my self in the morning...so Wednesday night when I got home I thought "I better jump on the scale to see how much I gained from surgery with all the fluid they pumped in"...not only was there no a gain, I had lost a pound...so yesterday I jumped on to see how it was going and lost another 1.5 lbs....this morning? brought it to 6 lbs since Monday that I have lost...and that was with menstruation starting! (sorry guys) I knew it happened fast, but this is so much more than I expected fast!
Don't worry I'm not gonna get obsessed with the scale, but wow! I guess I see now how it happens! and why people have such a hard time with the stalls. Before you begin it seems crazy but you have to be in it to see it I guess...
I hope all the other September surgery people are doing well...it's hard to get all the water in...did about 35 oz yesterday...will keep sipping. Sorry to ramble, but just amazed!
So glad your surgery was a success mine was also Monday and I actually left the hospital the same day im also trying to sip my water and keep hydrated but its so hard when your stomach is so little I actually started phase 2 yesterday and am enjoying the protein shakes more then soups I just feel like I have a tad bit more energy to try and do things. have you started your vitamins yet?
Good for you!! I'm 10 days post-op and I've lost 10 pounds. I'm so excited!! I will eventually go to weighing just once a week, but right now it's fun to do it more often. My surgery was smooth sailing, I was very, very luck. I'm making sure to get at least 80g protein in per day....mostly by doing 2 shakes at 30g protein each and then high protein foods. Remember that the shakes also count as liquid. I'm also doing decaf coffee, iced tea, and crystal light. I HATE plain water.
Welcome to the losers bench.
WOW 10lbs! so great!! Thanks for the reminder! I forget that the "liquid" diet goes toward our over all fluid! I dislike water by itself also! Congrats on doing so well!! :)
I am so excited for! You are an inspiration to me.
