Thoughts about goal after 6 month post-op checkup

Personally I agree with your doctor. The BMI model is a rough estimate of health. You could be perfectly healthy at 150; I'm sure you could also be healthy at 130. It is less about the number and more about how you feel and how your labs are. How tall are you? That is also a huge factor. I'm almost 5'11" and 130 seems like an unrealistic goal for me but 150 seems more manageable (although at the lowest low of my range). I think maybe you should look at your doctor's reaction in a more positive light- if you get to 150 and FEEL good, there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you will get to 130 but gain some back and then be right between 130-150 at a happy medium. Who knows [: my weight has always gone up and up and up...I was at a weight like that before I even thought about going on a scale..so I don't even know what my "natural" weight would be! All I know is that you and I and everyone here is on a personal journey and only we can figure out what is right!! Don't be discouraged, you've kicked but thus far and just stay in tuned with your body [: cheers

I completely agree that there are perfectly healthy people that are my height (5'3") and weigh 150. He just took the wind out of my sails a little, but I'm just going to keep moving forward and see where I end up. I appreciate the thoughtful reply!
