Water with meals

For the RNY, people can't drink while eating because they've got a stoma and liquid can push the food through which decreases satiety.

For the VSG, however, we've got a fully functional pyloric valve - just like people who haven't had any sort of stomach surgery.  So we -can- drink while eating.. the problem is that food closes the pyloric valve up so anything you were to drink after a few bites would just fill up your stomach quicker and mean that you wouldn't be able to get your much more important protein in.  Prioritize your stomach space for nutrition when you eat - save the liquids for when your stomach is empty.

My plan says to wait 30 minutes after drinking to eat and wait 30 minutes after eating to drink.  I have the timer set on my phone so I can make sure I stay on plan.  It has really helped me.

I found a Video a while ago. and i wish i could find it again.  But what the video showed... a Mason Jar with a funnel.  The Guy put applesauce in the funnel and it dripped and dripped   nice and slow.

then he took the same amount of applesauce and mixed it with some water.  When he put it into the funnel, guess what... there was no Drip.  It was a steady flow right into jar.

That is a visual Representation of what happens when you drink and eat
