I'll ask you the same question.  Do you get physical copies of your lab reports or rely on what your doctor tells you?

Yes I get physical copies and they are not only reviewed by my surgeon but also my primary doctor and the nutritionist every three months. I'm not suggesting that other people sto*****t, take vitamins. I'm just expressing the guidance of my personal medical team who knows my personal medical history and is current on where I am at now. I take an over the counter multivitamin every day and that's it. My surgery was very uneventful and I had no complications along the way. Wondering why everyone is challenging me so hard? Everyone is different and i appreciate your concern and guidance but I'm here to support other people when they need help not get challenged by people who have zero knowledge of my medical background.

You're right.  We have no knowledge of your medical background.  Good luck!

I had taken zero vitamins from day one. I work in a lab . My labs, from a to z are excellent! You are fine. Be diligent, & keep protein up, I like my carbs at 50 or below. Only carbs from green veggies. Asparagus etc. And it is alot slower the 2cd time around to lose. Also you may have to play w calories maybe 1000? But perhaps have them come in protein, those extra calories. We can go into how much vitamins are actually beneficial and soaked into the digestion track and what gets wasted , dissolved or pooped out by the body...but i'll save you from what I bet you already know :) stay diligent, be honest to yourself , track track track and be patient.

This is horrible, horrible advice regarding the vitamins. Have you had a DEXA scan?

Actually, yes I have had a Dexa scan, two actually!. My score is -1. Which is optimal bone density. :) Everyone is different, every body is different.

My new PCP, who looks about 12, but may be 13 or 14, had a whole list of labs and vitamin requirements for every WLS surgery.  It's a shame when some doctors don't keep up with current research and recommendations and their patients trust them blindly.

WE are our own best advocates for our health, giving your doctor all responsibility is very short sighted.
