How long did you wait to buy new... Ahem, Undergarments.

I will channel Tim Gunn here and say that having proper foundational garments is extremely important.  So when my bras stopped fitting on the tightest hooks and tightest straps, I bought two new ones.  I wash them often, but that's no big deal since I'll need to buy new ones sooner than normal anyway.  Ditto for panties.  

With sports bras, I only buy ones that have hooks and adjustable shoulder straps as well.  The Moving Comfort/Brooks Maia is my favorite. 

I have the same question. I'm 3 months out next week and I'm in the same bras since my highest weight pre-op (273 lbs down to 216, size 44 DDD). Man, I must've been squeezing into these puppies at my highest weights. I've adjusted the straps and hooks and there's a little bit too much fabric in the cups, but the next size down is too small. I feel like I've lost weight everywhere but the chest. Now that I'm in smaller shirts, I feel like they're sticking out like crazy. I expected to be dropping bra sizes rapidly and it just hasn't happened.

I guess everybody's different, though, right? 

I waited as long as I could... then bought quality new underwear (about 20 pounds ago). Panties still fit well, but the bras are just a bit too big (but not enough to buy again except as replacement).  I had bras with foam cups which were too small when I started the process (panties tight too).  I noticed that the foam cups were pretty good when the cups got a little big (don't get wrinkly), so I bought similar ones when I replaced them (they still look good under clothes).  I buy my underwear online from .onehanesplace.com. 

I had to buy  a new one soon after. I went to walmart and got one off of the clearance rack and went to a thrift store and just washed it before I wore it. thrift stores will be your bestie for quite some time

For panties, I just get a cheap pack of Just My Size at Wal-Mart.  Cheap enough to guiltlessly throw away when you move into a new size.  For bras, I'm ashamed to admit I've worn my admittedly too tight 44D bras through 110 pounds of weight loss.  Last week I went to Lane Bryant and bought two Cacique bras in 40C.  They're the fashion style and run small so I put bra extenders on them so I can get some use out of them.  With two, I can rotate wear and then hand wash and hang as necessary.

Thanks ladies! I'm a lane Bryant girl and these 44DD's... The straps have room but the cups,  my boobs are swimming. So I guess I'll have to go down a cup size and see if that helps

I started at 44DDD on my surgery date and I am seriously so stubborn about this I am now padding my foam cups rather than spend more money on bras until later this year. 

Ugh!! Why are boobs the first to go?!!! Mine were a DD but now I don't even think they are a D anymore! 

Right? Boobs and Butt. I can't wait til i can go back and start doing squats etc in the gym because i gotta build this booty back up and strengthen these chest muscles. LOL!
