How long after your approval letter did you have surgery?

I got "fast-tracked" for surgery because my approval came in early December and my mom was planning to fly in to help around the house while I recover. Bless their hearts, the office staff wanted to make sure she could come here, help out, and get back home in time for Christmas!

My timeline, IIRC:

  • Last diet/exercise visit: October 24
  • Paperwork gathered and sent to insurance: November 9
  • Approved by insurance: November 19
  • Scheduled for surgery: November 25
  • Medical clearance check-in: December 4
  • Surgery: December 10

Everybody's situation is different, but that's how mine went at least. Hope it helps!

I got my surgery date at my last supervised diet day appt, a little over a month away b4 I was approved by my ins. I still had to have an endoscopy, pre register for bloodwork and be on a liquid diet for a month to shrink my liver.

I had my last visit with my surgeon on 4.11.14.  I had completed all the preop stuff, so the nurse and I chose a date of May 22nd. They submitted my paperwork on 4.14.14.  I called the ins co on the 21st and it was approved that morning.. So now Im waiting to go to my Preop class on May 7th. Good luck to you...
