Telogen Effluvium starts 3-4 months post op, lasts 3-4 months and goes away.  This is an effect from surgery (as a trauma to the body), and there is no prevention or treatment for it.  It just runs its course.

Any extra protein or supplements will benefit the new hair pushing out the old right now, which is what is causing the shedding.  Adding some layers will help lighten your hair and blend in that new growth.  Adding highlights will plump up the shafts some, and who couldn't use a pick-me-up makeover about now?
