I can only hope. It feels like forever since I woke up ( disoriented) in hospital but it's not even a week.

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

Happy to hear that you are resting at your mums now. I can honestly tell you that each and every day from here on out should be better than the last.
Get as much rest at you can, and if you are having gas pains sometimes lying on your left side can really help to relieve it.
Don't be afraid to take your pain meds, my nurses told me it was absolutely the best to stay ahead of the pain.
Good luck with your recovery and WELCOME TO THE LOSERS BENCH!!!

Congratulations on making it to the losers bench!!! I hope you can manage the pain and it eases soon. Seems like from here on out it will get a little better each day so keep that in mind and just take it a day at a time. Be kind to yourself and know the best is yet to come. You did it!!! Hooray!

Congrats on a successful surgery! Glad you're able to recuperate at your Mom's.

I'm sorry about the pain; I was in awful pain, too. It happens, for some of us. Make sure to take your pain meds exactly as prescribed; don't fall behind or the pain will get worse.

I found that it hurt most when I had to move from a sitting to standing position, or standing to sitting position. I held a travel pillow against the area where it hurt the most whenever I moved, and it helped a lot.

If you can, try sleeping in a recliner, or at least prop yourself up on lots of pillows or one of those big wedges. I sort of made a pillow wall around me so I couldn't move around a lot while I slept and that helped.

The first week is rough but it will get better, day by day. Get plenty of rest, and concentrate on getting in your protein shakes and water. My surgeon told me the protein is essential early on because it helps the tissues to rebuild and heal.

Good luck.

I am on two premier protein shakes a day then soup for lunch. Strained. But it's so good. Then a cup of decaf tea. And then two cups of fruit tea

still no poop though. We are reaching critical mass im going to have to have milk of magnesia soon. Like tonight soon

Does your surgeon have you on a stool softener? Mine prescribed senokot and restorlax right after surgery. I still go through times where constipation is an issue; not fun. I hope yours will be resolved soon.
