Thanks for the words of wisdom.  I was really frustrated today dealing with the very nice resident.  Still, I felt like she wasted my time and money.  And Kim, I like the idea of a hematologist.  My PCP is great about referring out.  She knows I've been fighting the anemia for over a year and doesn't like that supplements haven't resolved the issue.  Getting a referral should be no problem.

I totally recommend that you follow with a hemetologist for your anemia.    As for being seen by a resident in the clinic, that is how doctors become doctors.  After they see you and do their evaluation they must talk to a senior physician and get approval for the game plan.  Reality is, residents will listen when a senior physician won't.
