I have had soooooooo many problems with his office staff!!!! They're lazy! I had surgery dec 21st never got any pre op or post op instructions. After calling a million times and the front desk girls just saying they would leave a message I just showed up there. I've had good results so far from surgery just sharp pain left side, sorry you're having so much trouble! I would definitely be going somewhere especially with the vomiting, can't believe they won't call you in some

phenegran to help right now!

Sounded like either it was an emergency or the poster wasn't sure if it was an emergency, so the ER is where she should go. I absolutely agree that the ER should not be used as an urgent care or PCP office and when it is, it is called abuse. However, this post sounded like it was emergent. Even though abusing an ER is my biggest pet peeve...like people who would rather take care of their daily business and then watch their favorite TV shows and then go to the ER for a sore throat. I apologize if my response hurt your feelings. I felt strongly compelled to reach out to the person in distress and let her know that she needed to be seen by a physician. I read your post as uncaring. Again, I apologize, but will reach out again if I think it is necessary.

Anyway, I am here to learn, and for support. I thought it would be a good thing to support others, too. I'll hang out and learn, but will probably zip it. I'm not fond of confrontations, especially if I am the reason.

Poet Kelly, thank you for all of the information you have shared. I will continue to read everything that you post.

How very passive aggressive of you!

Your response, as ridiculous and rude as it was, was ignorant - that's all.   Newbies giving advice to newbies is always dangerous and now you have lost all the information and support you could have got from someone who has lived with this surgery for 9++ years.

I don't mean to undermine your situation,  but I have been in extreme pain a few times. I couldn't breathe, I could not walk and I definitely would think if posting on OH about that... A few times when I had someone with me - they called my doc .. and we dealt with the pain.. ..when it was just me... I called a friend and they called my doc... In extreme pain - I could not communicate properly.. That's what some of us that dealt with extreme pain understand "extreme pain"  (feel like you are dying - or like you rather be dead than be in the pain)  I did not have energy to be angry or sad or ... anything else - because the only thing I wanted to was to stop the pain...

I am sorry you are in pain.. and I don't wish extreme pain on anyone.. I know that one...

I also had pain above my largest incision site. I did not exhibit any of the other symptoms that you are experiencing though. I phoned my bariatric center and spoke with a nurse who was nothing short of incompetent. I saw my primary and could not wait the time they said the tests would be scheduled, so a week later(i should not have waited that long) I went to the ER. As it turns out it was a hematoma and took over a month for my body to absorb it. BY ALL MEANS GO TO THE ER. This was so painful and I thought I would never heal and I have an enormous tolerance for pain. You may have something serious going on. Is is absurd like some have suggested that just because you can type on a computer you are well. Some of us are better at tolerating pain than others. You know when you are not tip top. Advise your center so they can follow up and document it, but go to the ER. Good luck : )
