Some doctors don't require one at all. It varies from surgeon to surgeon,just like so many things!

This is all great to know.  Hoping it's not necessary but if it is I am up for it.  I am willing to do just about everything to finally get this part of my life under control.

My surgeon didn't require one either.  I only needed EKG, gallbladder ultrasound, psych clearance, 3 nutritionist visits, and PCP clearance.

Sounds exactly like what I had to have done.  Where are you going, if you don't mind me asking?

Already had my surgery in July.  My surgeon is Dr. Boynton, Lumberton, NJ.

that's really interesting! I didn't have to do the gallbladder ultrasound my tests were: EKG, Chest Xray, Endoscopy, 2x bloodwork, being up-to-date with girlie stuff (which I wasn't), Sleep study, nutrition visit, psych clearance, 6 months of lifestyle classes, and PCP clearance. There was some others that I didn't have to do, but the list was pretty big.

I had one done and it was like taking a nice nap. It allows a final check of your stomach which will no longer be accessible post surgery.  My pcp was good enough to suggest that while I was there they should have a look from the other end!
