Good for your doctor. There is absolutely no good reason for you to drink fruit juice!!

KW, two fruit servings a day have been part of my surgeons orders since day two post op. I have them purée, smoothie, unsweetened juice, etc. he wants those serving specifically for the natural sugars as they are much better brain food than the proteins alone.
please note I'm talking about 100% fruit juice and no sugar or sweetener added.

You should definitely follow your doctor's plan -- however, the Cleveland Clinic (my plan) is adamant that there is absolutely no reason to drink fruit juices ever. Indeed, during the weight loss period we are only to eat low glycemic fruits (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) as occasional treats. As a former diabetic, I can assure you that fruits and especially juices, caused my blood sugar to skyrocket. I am glad they work for you, however.

Please be careful with B complex. Many of them contail too, much B6. And from my personal experiance - B6 is in excess in so many supplements that eventually my blod levels went way too high. It is hard to get it down
High B6 is not good. Google that...

Everything you describe sounds completely normal. I went back to work within two weeks and found myself unreasonably exhausted. I think I even posted something similar to yours and was given an answer similar to mine. Just remember, your body is healing from major surgery with very little actual nutrition. It's bound to be tired. At about 2 months out, I really started gaining energy -- and now, I have so much energy that I could bottle and sell it. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.
As far as your weight loss -- it sounds absolutely on track. In the first two weeks, I only lost about 8 pounds. Take a look at my ticker if you're worried about being successful. :-)

People who lose weight pre-op seem to lose slower immediately post-op but it all evens out in the wa****'s normal. Just keep following your plan.
I was exhausted for the first 6 months. I did go back to work after 13 days, but came home every day and took a nap. About the six month mark was when my energy level seemed to return to normal. Hang in there!!

Hi ZoneChef. I had RNY the same day as you did. I was on a low carb hi protein diet for a month before surgery and lost only 3 lbs. I was distraught, but my Dr said not to worry, this just shows that you really do need the surgery to loose weight. I lost 22 lbs during the first two weeks, then I had a stall from day 14 to day 25. No weight loss. I paid it no mind, and, today, the scale was down 3 lbs. I only weigh myself Wed and Sunday. I do get in all my protein between the shakes cut with Skim plus milk and the Greek yogurt. The rest comes from my food. I only do 2 bottles of water in addition. Dr says this is enough. Good luck with continuing to loose.!
3weeks post op my blood pressure was so low I got to stop taking my meds and that was the root of my exhaustion . Low pressure and I just wanted to sleep!
