Tough, but good weekend

Jul 10, 2011

I started the weekend off by cleaning and organizing my closet. I decided that I really have to stop wearing the same clothes that I wore over 100 lbs ago - I look like CRAP in them. Most of them were too big to even be an option of wearing, so I knew they needed to go. Boy, was that a difficult chore. I knew I wanted to keep some for memories later on, but I packed away a large tub full of nice clothes (some of them still had tags on them lol). I left my suits in my closet for now because I'm considering getting them tailored. I have to find out how much it will cost vs cost of new suits. With my new work assignment, I absolutely need some suits, so one way or another....

It was just hard. I still see myself at 420 lbs. I dont feel like I've lost any weight. I don't see it in the mirror. But clearly I can't wear the same clothes. So, it was a start.

I also went closet shopping. That was a little better. Discovered I can fit into some things that I really like. However, now that my garbage bag pants are gone, my only option is squeezing into my size 24 pants. It's okay for the most part - they look good on me, but im going to be a little uncomfortable. I found a few shirts I can wear too, but they are all long sleeve and in this heat, UGH.

I went shopping at the mall because I need a few short sleeve/tank tops for work, but I had NO luck. I don't really know where to go shoping for 22/24 shirts. I tried lane bryant but 1) I didnt like their selection and 2) nothing was on sale and Im not paying $50 for any shirt right now. I tried torrid but their styles were a little too weird to wear to work. They had some really nice pants but I wasn't paying $50 for pants either.

So, shopping sucked. I can't wait to be able to shop at a normal freaking store so I can have some options. I feel like it's never going to happen though.
