10 Weeks Out

Jul 30, 2011

Oh how my life has changed. For the better. WLS was the best thing I have done in my life. I want to shout from the rooftops, "I love my new life."  My fibromyalgia is better since I am moving more and eating an anti-inflammatory diet. Having just returned from two glorious weeks in FL, I am having no regrets about surgery. While on vacation, I started pumping up my exercise routine and am now walking 3.5 miles in an hour and also exercising in the pool. Although I didn't do a great job of getting my protein in, I still lost 3 lbs and 8 inches in two weeks.

My daughter, Kristin, has battled her weight since high school. Yesterday, she said to me, "You look so tiny."  Knowing she is happy for me, I also know it is hard for her to watch my weight go down. If I had the chance to do it all again, I would have done it at her age 25 and not waited until I was 50. I spent half my life losing and gaining weight. The yo-yo drove me crazy and my closet reflected the craziness of having four different sizes!

Being perfectly honest, I do still throw up. When I eat something fried, or eat too fast, or eat too much. Stress also plays a role in my digestion process. And, it is a process of learning how and what to eat. Life is good. I'm slowly but surely becoming the person I was meant to be!
