Still no nerves?!?

Apr 01, 2011

So, I begin my PreOp liquid diet on the 6th of April (3days!) and I'm just as excited as a child for Christmas morning! I hope I'm not boosting my head up thinking I'm gonna beat this; EVERYTHING, with no problems... I mean I know this is supposed to be hard work, but I'm so ready for it! I just hope I'm not back on here I few weeks from now complaining about how I can't do it or talking about " I give up" ... I've been researching this for what seems like forever! I feel like I KNOW everything, and now I'm just waiting for my tool!

I must admit, I'm scared I'm going to STARVE to death on this two week liquid diet, and I'm still gonna be all liquids for 4 weeks after my surgery too! A whole month (6 weeks total)  with NO food! Crazzzy!

I think I'm worried about my hormone levels once I start losing weight. I know I have hormone issues already because of my PCOS and hirutism (side burns, under chin), but I hear about the estrogen being stored in fat and people becoming emotional... hell, I'm a Cancer and I'm already an emotional person (they used to call me all kinda names when I was younger because I cried all the time). I know now that even when watching shows or just reading stories here on OH I find myself tearing up and I have to hold back! I just hope I don't cry a whole bunch, and then people will be staring at me like I'm crazy. I know I'm going to feel crazy...just know it!

I can't believe I'll be sipping nothing but fluids... I "borrowed" some chicken broth and beef broth from my unit at work, and I'm taste testing these... not too shabby... I have only tried my protein shakes once... I need to go buy a Shake Ball Blender bottle from the Vitamin Shoppe, and I've decided to purchase a Magic Bullet, since it seems small enough for me to carry around...I'm actually excited about mixing these shakes together... I've gathered a BUT load of protein shake recipes, so maybe that's why I'm not so nervous... I'm a big kid, so playing with a blender everyday seems like a blast to me, LoL! I hope I won't be slapping myself for saying this in a week, LoL! I'm sure I'll be tired of protein shakes by then!

I didn't really have much to say, but I felt like posting :)

Oh, I bought a journal....
I don't know about everyone else, but I was one of those little girls who kept one...
So I figure I'd start again (at my young age of 24) with my PreOp diet and throughout my WLS journey... just to get an idea where my head is at and where it's going...

Just looked over my paperwork given to me by the doctor's office:
PreOp 2 week Liquid Diet (Chike Protein shakes 4x/day + H20, SF Popsciles, SF Jello, broth, etc.)
PostOp 1st week Clear Liquids (H20, SF Popsicles, Gatorade, SF Jello, broth)
PostOp 2nd-4th week Full Liquids (Pureed/blended soups, milk, etc.)
PostOp 5th week Soft Foods ... (yogurt, mashed potatoes, tuna, fish, etc.)
