Made it through Christmas!

I think I posted in my last entry that I had started the Atkins diet. Well, I have to toot my own horn a little bit, I am really proud of myself for sticking with it! The day after I'd started it, my daughter Libby (who will be three in a couple weeks and has a lot of medical problems) was admitted to the hospital. I am most definitely a stress eater, so it was a big struggle for me not to use this as an excuse to get off the diet and go stuff myself. Our local hospital is very small, so they don't have a cafeteria, so I could only have what they brought on the tray. Not Atkin's friendly! I was very proud of myself, I just ate the things I could and left the rest.

I also made it through Christmas! What an accomplishment! Although, I did host the holiday at my house this year, so I could control what foods were out. I made it pretty easy on myself, but I'm still feeling good about it. I did have a small cheat yesterday- I woke up in the middle of the night to get Libby a bottle and my sons giant Hershey's Kiss from his stocking was out on the counter. I took a big old bite of it! I don't know what got into me!  I'm not going to dwell on it, I'm not perfect but I can strive to do better every day.

I've got the psych eval on Dec 31- then we can submit to insurance! I'm so excited! This New  Year's is going to be really special... I think 2010 is going to be a pretty great year!
