One Year Out

As I sit and reflect on the last year of accomplishments, struggles, and triumphs I am amazed at the journey that I have just started. All of you have been such a wonderful support helping me when I was down to bring me up, and to remind me what my true goal is, health. When I first decided to have RNY, I could not have imagined how fast my health could change for the positive. Meal time at the McIntire-Yarbrough house can be a laugh with a GB patient as many of you know. One never knows when the tummy decides it doesn’t like what has gone in, or when the tummy decides it’s full! Going out to eat can be a challenge, which I have learned how to order for me, but I always feel bad for the waitress when she sees that I have only eaten a small portion of the meal. I always make sure to let her know it was great, I just get full fast. Oh, and we can’t forget to mention “Tina the Talking Tummy” as the kids call it. My “second” non-used tummy makes some really loud noises, and can be heard above the TV and at times really wants to be noticed. My daughter just laughs at me and gets grossed out. I always pray when we are out in public such as church, that no one can hear it! J   I have made a list of small accomplishments I have made in the last year that my weight loss has allowed me to do and I would like to share a few of them with you: Tie shoes in the center
Ride Roller Coasters
Dogs can sit on both sides of me in the recliner
Forget to eat (who me??)
Cross Legs
Wear nylons bought at grocery store
Sit Indian style at the movie theater
Shop in regular stores (Anne Taylor for one!)
Extra room in the seat belt
Son can pick me up
When kids hug me, their arms go all the way around
Keep up with my daughters Pageantry Troupe and not need a 3 day nap after!
Wear high heels
Share clothes with daughter
When I had to call 911 due to chest pains, knowing that they could easily transfer me from gurney to bed
I am sure there are more, but those are the ones off the top of my head
**I have also signed up for my first 5K race in July.  I doubt that I can run the whole thing, but my goal is just to finish strong.  I hope this is the first of many to come! Thank you again to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have included a before and a now picture!
