Mar 03, 2012
WOOHOOO!!! I did it!!! I signed up for the 5k and today was the day. Got up at 5am, got rady and ahd a light breakfast. At 6:30am I left for the marathon. At 7:45am lined up for the marathon, at 8am the gun went off and there I go a slow jog for the 1/2 mile. Did youread that? FOR ATHE 1/2st mile I jogged with out stopping!!! YEAH ME!!! 1 mile, I step it up a bit. Controlling my breathing making sure I am not winded. Ok I got this, her comes mile 2 O GREAT a water station, running thru grab a swallow of water. 2 1/2 miles people are cheering us on this is great. 3 mile mark, OM Goodness LORD let me make it to the finish line please, please. Keeping my pace I add to the fire, all of a sudden I hit the finish line, and the shoe tag I was wearing came up on the computer and I hear the best voice in the world saying, Crossing the finish line is Debra Gore. Up went my hands, actually being thankful I made it and the newspapers were there taking pics of the runners who crossed the finish line. This was my 1st time I have ever ran in my entire life. May of taken me 53 minutes to do a 5k, however I DID IT!!
The feeling I had all over my body was the most amazing feeling I have ever had. I felt energized and wonderful. There are muscles in my legs I never knew I had. I am so thnakful that I did this run.
At the pre-post festivities there were other organizations advertising thier runs, so.....I made a commitment to run April 21, April 28, May 5 and the International run October 21. I have joined a running group, we will meet 6am Saturday mornings and run for a minimun of 3 miles. If I did not loose all of this weight, I would of never been able to do this.
I am so thankful for my RNY. I am doing some amazing wonderful things I thought I would never do in my entire life, only wished I could.
Hello NEW LIFE!!!!!
Take Care,
Deb
