Paperwork sent to Insurance: Waiting for Approval

Dec 27, 2010

After several days of playing phone tag with my PCP's assistant and thinking that he had sent all the required info already to Dr. Roslin's office I found out he had not been able to open the attachments I had sent to him. So I had to get them to him again , however he did manage to get the psych papers back to Dr. Roslin's office. I was very excited to then find out after talking to Kate in his office that she had put the paperwork thru. She said that BCBS turnaround varies and has had anything from 2 weeks to 2 months. I am ecstatic though.   I am also now 22 days smoke free although I seemed to have managed to get a bit of bronchitis.  Once I get approval I will make appointments for cardio and pulmonary. I am so sweating the pulmonary test and pray that I can pass that and that the pulmonary does not keep me from getting this surgery.  I am also still trying to lose weight per Dr. Roslin's request which I was doing OK first week or so after my visit to him but have now started feeling the effects of not smoking and find myself picking when I would have had a cigarette.  It is very frustrating as I have gained 3 lbs in these 22 days and I am supposed to be losing. I'm going to start the medical weight loss plan of 5 shakes and a meal which is how I dropped 35 lbs in 6 weeks before. Hopefully I can do comparable before my date whenever it may come to fruition!  Just keep looking forward and imagining a future date of great mobility and better health.
