finally

a month late, i get my period.  last time it was 2 weeks late.  i was kinda hoping this month would skip too.  menopause can't get here fast enough IMO.  and how i feel today is exactly why.  uncontrollable carb cravings, woke up with depression, migraine.  i absolutely loathe menstruation.  no princess warrior rite of passage is this.

ok so my recently acquired teaching gig went south, almost as fast as it came in.  i was promised a phone call from the hiring manager, for explanation, while she raved at me about how much they loved me, but that she couldn't talk about it at the moment i called.  no call yet.  however, on the SAME DAY she called me with that news, i acquired a new job (quite out of the blue) supposed to start next week as a full-time substance abuse clinician. so round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows.  we'll see how it goes.  

i have a whole set of size 12 pants now (i had to get something for work and some tops that fit).  which is just wonderful.  Old Navy is my best friend, and i'm about to cozy up to Payless, i need some cheap (if hopefully comfortable) summer shoes (i won't buy uncomfortable shoes no matter how cute or how cheap).  My stepdaughter loves payless, so there must be something to it. 

i can't remember if i posted about this already and i can't see from here, so i'll post again.  i got my lab results back from my last endocrinologist visit, and it shows my PTH as well as calcium is high.  now, eggface kind explained how dropping my calcium supplementation might actually induce hyperparathyroidism, so i don't know if the PTH has been high before or not.  it wasn't high on the last test.  but, the calcium is very consistently between 10 and 11 which is very much an indicator.  and again, my first lab BEFORE RNY was also high (between 10 and 11).  and as crappy and draggy as i've been feeling, for, like, ever, i would not be the least surprised to find out i have it.  so when i see the endocrinologist this coming Tuesday i have a feeling i may be getting signed up for a biopsy.  kinda like my period, the sooner they get this thing out of me the happier i will be.  my goodness i'm giving away body parts right and left.  here... have a section of my stomach, and take some intestines while you're at it!
