Learn from my mistake...

Dec 25, 2009

On my day 11, after surgery, I thought I could eat a scrambled egg. I made it with milk and a touch of butter. I kind of chopped it up as I was eating it. It  tasted good, and I didn't have any problem eating it.WELLLLLL, about 4 hours later, my stomach was hurting somewhat. At 1 am I woke my husband up and told him we were going to the ER. Terrible pain. The bottom line is this: don't eat scrambled eggs for at least a month and a half. They get stuck. Mine got stuck and ...did I mention about the terrible, terrible pain?I vomitted numerous times, had to be re-admitted to the hospital, lots of tests, xrays, ct scan.  Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed. I was thinking protein. After everything was fine, my Dr. let me stay on pureed foods. We thought he might make me start all over again. So, just be careful and if you ever have a question as to what to eat or not eat.....don't do it.. And to top it off, I had lost 10 lbs. Wouldn't it figure, I'd gain back 5 of it from all the stuff that was pumped in to me........... Argggghhhhhhhhh..............
