2010 UPDATE

Dec 28, 2010

Hello all, I'm hardly a blogger but here goes.  During the past couple of years I haven't really been in the website but today I received an email notification from someone who was on the site and wanted to be added as a friend.  I guess its easy to lose sight of your support systems when you have a million other things going on, so my 2011 resolution #1 is to return to the site and update this blog regularly.

In December of 08 I tied the knot with "baby daddy" at 137 lbs. Yes, everyone....a pencil thin me! Yay! But, I looked like a sick bobblehead and of course, right after fitting into the wedding dress right off the rack, I decided it was time to put on a few pounds.  At least to look healthy.  A couple of years later I've gained and maintained a healthy extra 20 lbs and I look and feel fabulous.

I've mentored a couple of people in their journey and that is one of the biggest accomplishments that I can truly say have come from my experience.  This surgery (VSG) is a journey into an unknown world of normalcy and health.  I still go through days when my eyes want to eat everything in sight, but I am limited by the size of my pouch so the e-brake is still there.  My biggest fear, of course, was to gain all of the weight back.  However, I have found that as the years pass although I still have to be very conscious of what goes into my mouth, there is NO WAY that I will EVER return to 308 lbs.

I underwent the first part of my cosmetic phase in June 2008 when I just had to choose between the belly flab and the awesome boobs! Hello, ladies, it is what it is!  Now I have already consulted with my surgeon Dr. Sean Simon at the Coral Gables Cosmetic Center and hopefully by the end of 2011 the 2nd phase will be complete.

My desired result is: HOURGLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I could have never imagined this body was underneath all the excess! Again, ladies, I know this may sound vain, but its a psychological transformation as well as a physical one.

And when you look good....you feel great and you have the drive to do great things and take over the world.

Now I have to get back to work....someone's gotta pay for Phase 2, right?

Take care everyone...and here's to 2011.
