So frustrated!!

Feb 20, 2010

Okay so I have now completed all of my presurgical testing and 6 month diet and excercise plan with my pcp. I have been working with Dr. John Morton at Stanford University and initially went for a lap band. After my upper GI and my endoscopy they found that I have acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. So no lap band for me. I am sooooo scared of the RNY because all of my clients that have had it have had a ton of complications. Dr. Morton and staff talked to me about the sleeve. After a ton of research I have found that the sleeve is really what I want to do. One problem.....my insurance doesn't cover it! After completing my 6 months with my pcp I have realized that Dr. Morton and his team are no longer on my insurance registry. They are no longer contracted with him for one reason or another. I'm just so scared of what I am going to be out of pocket for this surgery and do not have the finances to have the surgery any other way! Getting more and more depressed because I know I have a big fight ahead of me! Aetna says that because I have worked with Dr. Morton up until now they can do transition of care to him to cover the surgery but they are still not contracted with him so they can't control his rates....ughhhhh I wish I had someone of knowledge to do all of this for me! I'm sooooo trying to diet and stay on track and lose some weight before the surgery and this just isn't helping my stress level! Any suggestions or encouraging words? I could really use them peeps! ♥♥Jules♥♥
