Letters from PCP

Jun 17, 2011

So I met with my PCP about two weeks ago. She was a little resistant to write the letter of necessity, but I had written a letter to explaining why I wanted this surgery and I made a list of goals. After reading the letter she warmed up to the idea and she agreed to write the letter. I was so excited and relieved. This was the final piece of the puzzle and now I was able to submit the paperwork to Humana. She told me my letter would be ready the next day and it was. My husband met with his PCP and he was excited for him and would write him a letter no questions asked. I was a little jealous I am not going to lie, our doctors are a husband and wife team and know us pretty well. Why was my doctor trying to put up a fight? Ahh! Anyways, my husband picked up our letters and his was a full page...mine was 3 sentences...I was hoping our surgeon would accept mine. I called the surgeons office and they said it didn't matter how long the letter was as long as it said they thought it was a good idea. Whew! I was relieved! Tiffany at the doctors office said she was going to fax it over to Humana at the end of the day. YAY!
