Part 2Sad day. I have three cats. 20 years old. Moufassa the male died last night. It was an answer to prayer though, he was sick and God knew how hard it was going to be for me to put him to sleep.
Mary said some interesting things yesterday in response to yesterday's devotion, So God said to me that I needed to eleborate.
4-6In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.
6-8If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
so can we do that? Can we work together to grow His kingdom. It is so not about us. God has been so teaching me that and I can tell you that the more I submit to His will the happier I am and the blessings are amazing. God has brought people into my life that I have to stop and say you know it is not about me. A friend of mine is very busy and all about God's work. She really does nothing else. It frustrated me in the beggining of our friendship, but she is their when I need her and that is what matters. I had to realize that this is not about me, it is about her, because it is about God. I had to put my feelings and my insecurities aside and say what is best for God' kingdom and what is best for His child. To be selfless is a huge task, a lot of work, and so not what WLS is about sometimes. Yes we need to take care of ourselves and not sabatoge our weight loss but we do need to tend to God's children also. I know this is not a popular topic but right now I am not typing this God is. We need to make sure we keep Matthew 25:40
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' as our motto. Remember the least of these.
