Retrain my brain

May 01, 2011

So, yesterday I made a tuna casserole with tuna, cottage cheese, garlic powder & sharp cheddar cheese. It was gooey yumminess with a ton of protein! Made  it in a small casserole dish and it'll still take me all week to finish it off. Which is a good thing.
My mistake was in NOT using my tiny 1/2 cup glass bowls but instead used a 1.5 cup bowl for the serving, so probably dished out close to 4 oz of the stuff and ate it way too quick. Paid for that mistake all morning! Mercifully I'm not one that pukes, so it didn't have a revisit but did need to sleep it off for a couple hours of misery. Was so afraid to eat again that it was a good 6 hours before I tried pureed foods again. Just stuck to the liquid protein drink for lunch. Dinner was my "thanksgiving in a blender" which I thinned out even more with extra broth. Then I risked some Fage with s/f strawberry jelly and that's stayed down well too. Lesson learned - measure, eat slow or I WILL SUFFER.
My incision site scabs have been falling off (sorry if that's TMI) and only have 2 places where I have glue/scabs. Some are kinda angry looking but others are quite healed and faint. It makes me think of someday actually exposing my abdomen to the world in a 2-piece .... when I'm at least a year out! No way I'm doing anything more revealing than a tankini in the near future. Heck, I'll be happy just to feel ok swimming again or being at a beach without shame!
Hubby is in good health and happy for that. Eldest kitty is doing well too, since we bought her more cat treats again, in abundance. Youngest cat seemed to have discovered my bamboo plant and that did not agree with him, so the both of us have been having "I shouldn't have eaten that" learning moments today. Otherwise, all seem to be well in my home and I thank God for that grace!
