Impatience Got to Me

Sep 08, 2014

I know I'm still a newbie and am moving along fairly well in the process but my impatience got.the better of me today. My orientation was.August 18th and we were told we should hear from them to start scheduling appointments within 2-4 weeks. Now I know it's only been 3 weeks and I need to just settle down but I got so excited seeing all the got my date, surgery soon, etc.. posts so I called the clinic lol She was very polite and said they haven't started August yet which I knew because some people from July 10th orientation just got dates 2 weeks ago. Still she was very nice and took my name and number and said she would call me once the nurse had released my file. I feel better knowing I'm being proactive and at least inquiring. :-) It helped me get an orientation date 6 weeks earlier than I was originally scheduled. I just want to get to the point where I know if I'm eligible for the surgery or not. My friend waited 8 weeks to find out she didn't qualify for surgery under the OHIP guidelines. My BMI is 37.6 and I have co-morbidities but they are not high risk co-morbidities so I fear I may not qualify in the end. I have mild sleep apnea, DDD (degenetative disc disease), depression and urinary issues but I'm also a high risk surgical candidate having already had PE's (pulmonary embolusus) in both lungs and DVT's (blood clots) in both legs following my 2 back surgeries. I also struggle with anemia. What if they say No????  I will be devastated. I try not to stress about it but I can't seem to help it. One good thing is that at least I'm not turning to food to deal with that stress, a step in the right direction but my nails have taken a beating. Anyway sorry for the long post but I just needed to get it off my chest. Thank you Hope everyone is day a great day :-)
