The Start

This is me...over in the corner, not being notice, I like it that way.  Big girls do not want to be notice, we are wall-flowers.  Once I decided that was NOT me, I knew I would never look back in that shadowed corner. 

I started this new life in Aug 2011, by finally stepping out of the corner and attending my first Siminar with Dr. Joe Bob Kirk (yes that is his real name).  I have done the research so everything he was saying I had already heard, except for this one bit...that had me crying like a little baby.  He said"  ....do you wish you could finally tie your shoes in the middle"....that was it...i was hook line and sinker, where do I sign up.

My First intake appt was with Dr. Kirk, my twins and my husband came with me, which was awesome, loved the facility at Bailey medical center ( owasso) loved the staff...just had a all around good vibe.  All my pre-test came back interesting.  I say interesting becuase as a BIG girl I naturally assumed that I was fine, WRONG.  Labs= diabetes, high coloestrol, Hotchemoto's...etc.  Sleep study = sleep apnea (CPAP ordered).  Heart function= abnormal stress test confirmed a murmer.  And the lists go on.

I received full insurance approval as of yesterday, so as of today, I am 13 days pre-op, on full liquid diet (YUCK) and counting the minutes till I can really start living.
