The Beginning...

Feb 25, 2010

I went to the seminar on February 16, 2010. I have to come up with $150 dollars for the application fee and send it in with the application and the questioner for my insurance company. That will be taken care of on March 1st.  Then it's going to be a waiting game for a contact from them to get a consult from the surgeon.

My cousin ( who just had gastric bypass on 2/5) and I are going to the support group on 3/2. It will be my 1st of 3 required groups... although I plan on going to so many more before and after WLS.

I thought about having the Lap band for a while because then I could avoid the artificial sweeteners that give me massive migraines. Then i looked into statistics of the weight loss itself and I found it doesnt suit me.  My best friend of 8 years gave me some cruicial advice. He said "whatever surgery you decide, I'm with you all the way. Just make sure you don't have one kind and regret not going for the other"

So for the next couple of months i'm going to be trying out different artificial sweetners and see if there may be one that doesnt give me migraines. I know that these headaches are HELL but I have to do this in order to find one that may work with me. Theres also a possibility that I may have to be on a diet with absolutely no sugar (which Im going to talk to the nutitionalist the minute I get that opportunity)

To me I find that finding a Art sugar that doesnt disagree with me is a challange and the thought of having a naturally sugar free diet is just another lifestyle change.  I know that I have to relearn how to eat, and if that's what I have to do, Then I will do it.
