Yesterday I had an appointment for my bariatric surgery. I sat through the whole 2 hours. We had a question & answer session and there were 3 people there that had the surgery already. One young lady had literally lost 130lbs...yeah for her. They gave us alot of insight on the surgery. I was so excited until they said check with insurance company to see if my particular policy covers the surgery. Ok, I thought all hope is out the window now, because I knew my insurance does not cover weight loss...arrrrgh, how frustrating. Trust me I wanted to cry. I soaked it up and called my girlfriend, who had nmy back say it's gonna work out. I went home and went to bed. Well this morning I was scared to call the insurance company but I did. I was told to ask what benefits does my policy have for bariatric surgery or weight loss...lol, I sounded so professional. The young lady told me that my particular policy does not cover weight loss, however it covers my batiatric surgery 100%....wooohoooo! Needless to say I am walking around the office with a grin on my face, and no one knows why. Now the wait for all the test and exams and to make my appointment with the surgeon. I know I truly need support now.
