1 Month Update
Sep 09, 2013
It's been 1 month since my surgery. My infection is almost healed - I will see my local PCP tomorrow. I think that this has slowed my progress. I get very tired, and usually nap once a day. I don't walk as much as most, but I do go out several times a day for short periods. My head isn't as foggy, and I can actually concentrate on tasks now. I'm not working full time, and had to cancel a business trip because I just couldn't handle the exertion.
I am getting my protein and fluids in just fine, slowly introducing new foods. I'm in Phase 4 so eating eggs, string cheese, deli turkey, cottage cheese, yogurt. So far I have had no intolerances and haven't dumped. I am very careful to only eat 2-3oz at a sitting. To day I have lost 24lbs.which I think is good because I am considered a lightweight - only needing to lose 60lbs total.
As my energy level improves, my overall outlook improves. So far this month, I have wished that I had not done this to my body. It's been a very difficult recovery. I'm not depressed, but frustrated.
